Biography

Nicole Babaknia is an attorney on the consumer class action team at Treehouse Law and a graduate of UC Irvine Law. Her unique experiences practicing as both a litigator and corporate transactional attorney prior to joining the Treehouse Law team gives her an edge when representing plaintiffs on complex negotiations and lawsuits with both smaller and larger corporations. Before joining Treehouse Law, Nicole worked as an associate attorney for Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis and Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside. Nicole is a zealous advocate who is passionate about protecting consumers from misleading marketing practices and holding companies accountable for their unlawful conduct. At Treehouse Law, she represents consumers on a wide range of consumer product matters, including cosmetic and personal care product labeling, food and beverage labeling, and greenwashing and environmental claims. 
 
While attending UC Irvine Law, Nicole served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge Richard Lee in the Orange County Superior Court and worked as a legal intern at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the leading civil rights organization defending digital and intellectual property rights, privacy, and free speech on the internet. She volunteered with UC Irvine Law’s Community and Economic Development clinic and served as an Associate Editor for the UC Irvine Law Review.  Nicole was awarded the Pro Bono Achievement Award at UC Irvine Law for her dedication and commitment to pro bono work while attending law school.  She additionally worked as a Research Assistant to American Law Institute Reporter Kenneth Simons on the Restatement of Torts.
 
Prior to joining the legal profession, Nicole worked in product development and branding for a virtual reality company in Los Angeles, giving her a special perspective on advertising and consumer products. She additionally obtained a Master of Science in Digital Social Media from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School of Communications and Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Management from Johns Hopkins University.
